EZproxy is great. It is the best piece of software for connecting off campus users to Library resources. The only problem is that the documentation for it is horrible. Yup horrible. Most of the time a feature is only discussed on the "What's new with this version" page. Recently I hit a problem with how EZproxy handled our wildcard SSL certificates, the solution ended up being fairly straightforward but deciphering the documentation to find it was crazy.
